The pour-over bench test
Twelve kettles, one week, and the three that held their temperature to the degree.
Shop coffeeNew this week
- Gooseneck kettle, 0.9 L £89
- Burr grinder, 40 mm £215
- Double-wall glasses, four £42
The gooseneck pours a thread you can steer, and the base holds its temperature to the degree for as long as you leave it.
How we test
Every kettle runs the same hour on the same bench: a litre to boil, a held temperature read each minute, and a pour poured by the same hand.
What survives the hour gets shelf space. What does not goes back to the maker with the numbers.
Goes with it
- Cast iron skillet, 26 cm £74
- Stoneware mug, 300 ml £19
- Linen apron £38
Grounds come out even from espresso to cold brew, and it is quiet enough to run before anyone else is up.
Delivery
Orders placed before noon leave the same day, and a kettle is on the doorstep by Thursday.
Anything that disappoints comes back to us, carriage paid, for a year.
